Why This Day Is Special:

It aims to create a better and more secure digital environment for everyone. Safer Internet Day encourages individuals, schools, and organizations to reflect on their online behavior and promote positive internet experiences. It addresses issues like cyberbullying, online privacy, and misinformation.

History Behind the Day:

 Safer Internet Day began in 2004 as an initiative of the EU SafeBorders project and is now celebrated in over 180 countries worldwide. It is coordinated by the Insafe/INHOPE network in Europe. Each year, a new theme is chosen to focus on current online issues. The day has evolved to cover emerging online trends and challenges.

Young people are increasingly spending more time online, making digital literacy and online safety crucial skills. Parents and educators play a vital role in guiding children towards responsible internet use. Many online platforms offer privacy settings and reporting tools to enhance user safety. World Blood Donor Day, celebrated on June 14 , honors the birth of Dr. Karl Landsteiner , who discovered the blood groups A, B, AB, and O. This day raises awareness about the importance of regular blood donation and thanks voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts .
